Star Wars was all the rage, and the two major factions were the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance. The former of those two symbols is more important in regards to the question about the Sith Empire's symbol being similar to that of the Galactic Republic's symbol, but the Rebellion's symbol also plays into things later, but I digress. Star wars sith empire symbol. When Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords was first released, the establishment of the Old Sith Empire was believed to have taken place circa 25,000 BBY. Additionally, the beginning of the 'True Sith's' existence was fixed as being approximately 'tens of thousands of years' in the past. The Sith Empire was an empire that existed long before the Galactic Empire. The ancient Sith built their empires through the use of slave labor, a practice that the Galactic Republic outlawed during its stewardship of the galaxy. Here's how to identify the Rebel Alliance, the First Order, and more. Their symbol, a starbird, is most often spotted on pilots’ helmets and can also be seen on uniforms on the Resistance base in The Force Awakens. The design may have roots in the phoenix/starbird graffiti Sabine Wren leaves behind in Star Wars Rebels.
Total War: Rise of Mordor is a conversion mod for Total War: Attila that, in its final form, will let you play through a newly-crafted campaign featuring 19 factions from Middle Earth. You can take your first peek at it now thanks to a public alpha released this week that will hand you control over some of the factions and let you play around with custom units that are based on the ones you'll have seen in the films.
The background story of the campaign will be 'accurate to the books', but could still be a while off yet. First, the team will finish off the factions and add custom settlements into the mod.
The grand strategy and large-scale battles of the Total War series make it ripe for Lord of the Rings conversions, and Rise of Mordor isn't the first to attempt it. Third Age does something similar for Medieval 2: Total War, and it does it very well (making it onto Tom's list of essential Total War mods a while back). But that game is more than 10 years old now, so I'm curious to see if working on a newer title like Attila will help create something better.

You can download the alpha of Rise of Mordor from its ModDB page.
A mod based on the LOTR trilogy movies. The goal of this mod is to simulate the huge epic battles seen in the movies. Currently this project only focuses on Custom and Multiplayer battles.
FAQ:
Q: When will this mod be released?
A: The end of Ocotber/early November will see a first beta release. This beta will be missing some elite units (since they need further designing) but most of the final roster is there. The first beta's purpose is for balance testing.
Q: Will this mod include a single player campaign?
A: Not at the moment. I'm focusing on making a large selection of units first. I'm also not too happy with the limited culture RTW has so a campaign version will be considered after RTW:BI.
Q: How many faction will be playable?
A: 8 'real' factions and 2 'bonus' factions
Q: Will there be LOTR music in it?
A: Yes.
Q: Will there be custom sounds such that orcs would sound like orcs and not just burly men?
A: Yes. They're done. Regular orcs and Uruk-hai got separate and distinct sounds.
Q: Will be custom sounds for units?
A: Not at first beta release so the file size won't be too large. It is planned for the final version.
Q: WILL THERE BE HOBBITS????
A: YES.
Q: What's the full unit roster?
A: Please visit SCC Mod Forum thread for full unit listing (still a WIP though).
Q: Your mod sucks, METW and FATW are totally better
A: That's not a question and you're free not to download this mod.
The Lord of the Rings - Total War is a mod for Rome: Total War (and requiring the Alexander add-on ) created by Lord of The Rings Total War Team. It’s a Total Conversion based on The Lord of the Rings trilogy, focused on recreating the epic battles seen in the movies. It has a complete Middle Earth map, fully customized cities like Minas Tirith and Helm's Deep on Battle and Campaign map, a set of Historical Battles where you can play all the major and minor battles that take place in the trilogy, and a quest line for the Free-People's campaign where, if the player succeeds, will take the Ring-Bearer from Hobbiton to the wasteland of Mordor in an attempt to save the world from its doom.
How to install: both the mod and patch have their own installers.

Third Age, an old mod for Medieval II Total War, remains one of the best mods you can get for any PC strategy game. It’s about to get some competition, though, from Total War: Rise of Mordor, a new mod that’s now got a playable alpha available you can check out.
While both are essentially doing the same thing—bringing Lord of the Rings to the Total War engine—there are some significant differences. Third Age is older (it’s running in a game first released in 2006), so it looks older, but it’s also an incredibly comprehensive mod, feeling in many points like it’s a standalone game in its own right.
Rise of Mordor, meanwhile, obviously looks amazing since it’s plugged into the newer Total War: Attila, but has some serious limitations; namely that Creative Assembly have really put the brakes on the moddability of their games in recent years, which is making the development of things like a campaign and custom overworld map almost impossible.

Still, what the team can do to get around this, they’ve done or are doing, and they’ve done a ton of work, up to recording their own motion-capture data for new units. There are plans for 19 factions in all, and you can download the alpha (which, remember, is far from the finished product) here.
